[UCSA] Paid opportunity for UC students

Hi!

My name is Valeria Cantor Mendez and I am the Board Vice Chair for the UC Student Association. UCSA is a student-run, student-led organization with a Board of Directors composed of students elected or appointed by our member student governments. Our mission is to empower students to advocate for the affordability, accessibility, and quality of the UC System.

I am reaching out with a paid opportunity open to all UC students for the ’24-’25 academic year. It would be ideal if you could share with students on your campus. If you have an Instagram page, you can repost our graphic with more information. If you have an email newsletter, below is a blurb you can share about the AO positions, along with a graphic you can attach to it. Thanks in advance!

Appointed Officers (AOs) advise the UC Student Board of Directors on matters related to their specific subject. For the ’24-’25 academic year, we are looking for appointed officers to work on the following subjects: Academic Affairs, Basic Needs, Black Student Success, Campus Climate, Disability Justice, Labor Relations, International Student Affairs, Transfer Student Affairs, and Student Housing. AOs receive a monthly stipend and work on projects that benefit UC students systemwide. We are looking for dedicated students passionate about student advocacy! All UC undergrads can apply, applications are due May 30th. The application consists of a general question, a description of a proposed project, and an explanation of the applicant’s experience as it relates to the position they are applying for. If there are any questions, please feel free to reach out to vicechair@ucsa.org.

Applications for the UCSA Appointed Officers are now open and close on May 30th.

In service and solidarity,

Valeria Cantor Méndez (she/they)
