Meet the Student Teams
Access Team
The Access Team works under the direction of the student as class/lab assistants and mobility assistants to support students with disabilities related to vision and/or physical mechanics and dexterity requirements.
Accessible Furniture Team
The Accessible Furniture Team coordinates placement of accessible furniture in classroom and campus environments. Examples of accessible furniture include stand-alone chairs and wheelchair accessible desks.
Exam Support Services Team
At the DRC Testing Center, our dedicated Exam Support Services team ensures that students receive the exam accommodations they need for a successful testing experience. Our Office Assistants assist students with check-ins and provide clear guidance on accessing exam accommodations. Our Exam Assistants serve as scribes, readers, and proctors, supporting students with verified disabilities throughout their exams at UC Santa Cruz.
Notetaking Program Team
The Notetaking Team coordinates our DRC Peer Notetaker Accommodations.
DRC Central Office Assistant Team
The Office Assistant team (OAs for short) is our welcoming team. As they head up the reception desk, they are generally the first point of contact for students, instructors, and the public reaching out to the DRC. They schedule appointments to meet with Career staff, assist in routing incoming documents, as well as answer questions and connect people to resources to provide accommodations.
Video Captioning Team
The Video Captioning Team processes post-production captioning, also called offline captioning by adding captions to media, such as movies, streaming videos, lecture recordings, videos available on DVDs and other platforms such as YuJa.
Web Accessibility Team
Using web accessibility standards and university guidelines in managing the DRC’s web presences to be not only accessible for disability-related reasons, but also creating spaces that are universally navigable by all. The Web Accessibility Team uses analytics from site-use and frequently asked questions to guide the information that is provided on the website.
