In addition to the services the DRC provides, there is a wealth of other resources available on campus and in the community. Here are tips and contacts that might provide additional support for students and faculty while they are at UCSC.
English as a Second Language
The DRC focuses on disability related accommodations so students who are English as a Second Language (ESL) Learners would not be able to have accommodations through us unless there is a disability related need. The Division of Global Engagement has done a great job of combining UCSC and Santa Cruz County resources for ESL Learners. The International Student and Scholar Services office has a list of English Language Resources for ESL Learners to refer to.
The UCSC Resource Centers may be able to co-sponsor services or point the student [or “you” if to the student] to some community programs. Please contact the specific Center for available options and more information.
