WINTER QUARTER 2012Accommodation Information: If you've already met with a DRC Coordinator and been authorized for accommodations, check out the Current DRC Student section of our website for a wealth of information. If you're a UCSC student, but not yet affiliated with the DRC, and you want to know more about accommodations and registering with us, feel free to visit the Prospective Student pages and read over our Requesting Accommodations Checklist. This coming Monday, January 30, is the last day to Add/Drop/Swap classes and apply for the Part-time Program: For more information, please schedule an appointment with your DRC Coordinator. ADD/ADHD Support Group: Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) invites UCSC students with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder to learn AD/HD facts, science, study skills, and organizational techniques in a supportive group environment. This six-week group begins Monday, February 6th. For more information, read this flyer. The Community Forum on Hate & Bias at UCSC: On Monday, February 6, gather with members of the UCSC Community in the College Nine and Ten Multipurpose Room from 7:00 to 9:00pm to "Break the Silence" about acts of hate and bias on our campus. The event includes an address by keynote speakers Cherine Badawi and Arthur Romano, "Spoken Word" a performance by Storm Thomas, and three informative breakout sessions. For more information see the "Breaking the Silence" flyer. Placement Exams and Accommodations: Some departments require or recommend a placement exam prior to enrolling in their classes. If you need accommodations for the Writing or Math Placement Exams, please complete the Placement Exam Accommodation Form and return it to the DRC. If you are not yet registered with the DRC, please do so by submiting your disability-related documentation to our office along with the form. We also recommend that you contact the applicable department directly. UCSC Faculty, Staff, & Student Employees: Did you attend a DRC informational lecture recently and now want more information? Are you aware of how to best collaborate with the DRC and our community of students with disabilities? For informative flyers, checklists, and handouts tailored just for you, see our handy Faculty, Staff, and Student Employee Orientation page.
