New Online System, upcoming changes for DRC

Key Updates from the Disability Resource Center (DRC):
New Portal Launch: Starting January 8, 2025, DRC services will transition to a new web portal, AIM, where students can request services and send academic access letters to faculty each quarter. Students may request letters for winter quarter beginning January 8. Faculty will use AIM to view student accommodations, manage letters, and schedule exams.

Service Coordinator Title Change: Service Coordinators will now be called Accommodations Specialists. Their contact details will be accessible on the AIM portal, and appointments with them will be available starting January 13, 2025.

New Scheduling System: The DRC will adopt Calendly for scheduling appointments with Accommodations Specialists. Faculty will receive links to schedule consultations.

Information Sessions: Sessions to explain these updates will be held the week of January 6, 2025.

Faculty-Specific Notes: Bookmark the AIM portal link: AIM Instructor Portal. Faculty will receive email notifications for new access letters and use AIM for various course-related accommodations.

Students:

Students will use the system to request DRC services and send academic access letters to faculty each quarter. Students may begin requesting letters for winter quarter on January 8. DRC will send links and directions for the new service beginning on January 3. Information will also be available on the website.  

With the transition to AIM, we are also changing the title of our service coordinators. Your service coordinator will now have the title of Accommodations Specialist.  You will be able to locate their information on the front page of your AIM portal page. Appointments with Accommodations Specialists will be available beginning January 13, 2025.

Faculty:

Beginning on January 8, 2025, DRC services will be available on a new web portal called AIM.  Please bookmark this link.

Students will use the system to request DRC services and send academic access letters to faculty each quarter. Students will begin requesting letters for winter quarter on January 8. 

Faculty will receive email notices of new academic access letters for their students and will log into the new portal to view letters, view lists of students and accommodations for their courses, print letters, and more. Faculty will also use the new system to schedule exams through the DRC Testing Center. Directions for the new system will be available on the DRC website.  

We will offer information sessions the week of January 6. 

With the transition to AIM, we are also changing the title of our service coordinators. Service Coordinators will now have the title of Accommodations Specialist. These are the staff who work directly with students and faculty and who send out academic access letters for your students.
