We hope you join us and so we can celebrate your accomplishments together!

    Event Access and Location Information

ASL interpretation and CART will be provided, as well as vegan, gluten-free food options. This is a scent/fragrance-free and a child-friendly event.

An all gender, accessible restroom is located at the Cowell Provost House; additional all gender, accessible restrooms are located nearby in Cowell Apartment Community Room.

The Cowell Provost House is located off the Cowell Service Road from Hagar Drive. Using standard campus transit or Santa Cruz Metro bus routes 10-22, the venue can be accessed in either direction from the Cowell/Stevenson/Bookstore bus stops. The sidewalks from either bus stop lead to the venue. Travel along Hagar Drive away from the bookstore and towards OPERS/the East Field House; turn left at the sign for the Cowell Provost House at the Cowell Service Road.

While the UC Santa Cruz campus buses are accessible, the campus East Remote Exterior Lot bus stop is inaccessible (it is the main bus stop servicing the lot). The accessible interior bus stop and ADA spaces are currently blocked off for construction. For these reasons, we recommend that wheelchair users park in the close-in lots near the venue or utilize the Disability Van Service (more information below). Parking and transportation information is located in the sections below. If you experience barriers arriving at the Provost House due to accessibility concerns, please contact Rick Gubash at 952-240-9527.

Please send access requests to Abigail Katz at ajkatz@ucsc.edu or (831) 459-4807.

Co-sponsored by the Disability Resource Center, the Student Fee Advisory Committee, Cowell College Provost Alan Christy, and the UCSC CASFS Farm & Garden.

Parking & Transportation Information for Campus Affiliates (Students, Staff, Faculty)

If coming from an on-campus location, the venue can be reached by taking the campus shuttle to the Cowell College bus stop and navigating down Hagar Drive (away form the Bookstore) to the Provost House. For campus affiliates who utilize the Disability Van Service to navigate campus, please contact DVS by email dvs@ucsc.edu or by phone 831-459-2829 to schedule a ride for this event

For campus affiliates with A/B permits and/or with access needs require close in-parking, close-in and accessible parking options are available. Campus “A/B permit” spaces can be found near the venue in Lot 103A, serving the East Field House. This lot is accessed via Hagar Drive. TAPS directional signage will lead guests to this lot, and the TAPS Parking Map is available for reference. There are two van accessible, DMV placard (ADA) spaces located just before Lot 103A when coming from the base of campus. The sidewalk will lead to the Cowell Provost House, located on the right as you head up the road toward the Bookstore.

Campus affiliates with DMV placards are able to park in any of the following spaces with a UC Santa Cruz parking permit:

    • ADA (a.k.a. Accessible) parking spaces (DMV placard)
    • A permit spaces
    • Medical spaces
    • in time-limited zones (e.g., 10-minute spaces) for longer than the time specified
    • in meters and paystation spaces without additional payment when no other parking is available
    • out of a marked parking space, as long as you don’t park in fire lanes, tow-away zones, or next to red curbs. You also can’t block other vehicles, access to dumpsters or loading docks, buildings, sidewalks, pathways, or traffic.

If you experience any difficulty finding an accessible parking space on the day of the event, please contact Rick Gubash at 952-240-9527.

Parking & Transportation Information for Campus Visitors

Parking permits are required for campus visitors; more information can be found on the Visitor Parking page. Parking is most plentiful in the East Remote Lot; we recommend that off-campus guests whose access needs are met either by walking uphill to the venue from the parking lot or by taking the campus shuttle to the Cowell/Stevenson/Bookstore bus stop park in the East Remote lot. The TAPS Parking Map is available for reference.

For visitors whose access needs require close in-parking, accessible parking options are available. General close-in parking (campus “A permit” spaces nearby the venue) can be found in Lot 103A. TAPS directional signage will lead guests to this lot. There are two van accessible, DMV placard (ADA) spaces located just before Lot 103A when coming from the base of campus. The sidewalk will lead to the Cowell Provost House, located on the right as you head up the road toward the Bookstore. The TAPS Parking Map is available for reference.

Campus visitors with DMV placards are able to park in any of the following spaces without a purchasing UC Santa Cruz parking permit:

    • ADA (a.k.a. Accessible) parking spaces (DMV placard)
    • A permit spaces
    • Medical spaces (standard-sized parking spaces intended for those who need close-in parking similar to ADA spaces but who don’t require the additional space provided by ADA parking spaces)
    • Please note that DMV placards are not valid in spaces reserved for departments, individuals, contractors, carpools or vanpools, or in lots solely designated for “C” permit holders.

If you experience any difficulty finding an accessible parking space on the day of the event, please contact Rick Gubash at 952-240-9527.
