Welcome!  The DRC Electronic Advising Update is designed to keep you informed of important deadlines and to alert you to programs and resources that may be of interest to you. We will try to keep these publications as brief as possible. We hope that you will find it to be a useful tool to keep your quarter running smoothly.

IN THIS ISSUE:

Elevator Breakdowns @ Humanities Bldg.

Enrollment for Winter Quarter

Deadline for Withdrawal

Student Organization

National Achievement Awards

Honor Society for Students w/ Disabilities

Blind DRC Student Runs NY Marathon!

Please Note!! Elevator Breakdowns at Humanities Buildings:
In anticipation of the upcoming Winter Quarter enrollment dates (beginning November13) please be aware that there have been on-going problems with elevator breakdowns at the Humanities 1 and 2 Buildings, and currently they should not be considered reliable. Students with mobility or stamina problems who require elevator access should determine if any of the courses you enroll in are scheduled for a classroom (other than on the ground floor) in either of those buildings. In those cases please contact your DRC service coordinator ASAP, so that we can work with the Registrar to move classes to accessible locations.

Winter Quarter Enrollment: Winter quarter enrollment for continuing and readmitted students begins November 13-21. Open enrollment will be from November 22-January 5.

Withdraw from Class: Deadline to withdraw with a W (Withdraw) notation, except for emergency reasons is November 4th.

Student Organization: Hello, my name is Scott Rohlf, and I am the president of The Disability Alliance, a student organization on campus that works closely with the DRC. We are here to be a resource for students with disabilities at UCSC. The officers have a number of projects going on at this time. We will be having an Awareness Fair in Quarry Plaza by the bookstore next quarter. We need lots of help! You can visit our website at www.ucscdisabilityalliance.com . If you have any further questions or would like to become a member of the organization please e-mail me at srohlf@ucsc.edu.
