Disability Alliance-Student Organization:
Hello, my name is Scott Rohlf and I am the president of The Disability Alliance, a Student Organization on campus that works closely with the DRC. We are here to help the disabled student community. Some of the projects we are working on: Campus wheelchair access survey; Disability Awareness Event for October; possible funds to help students pay for LD assessments; speaker's panels. If you want to know anything more about the organization please visit our message board at http://katiehodges.com/da/ If you have any further questions or would like to become a member of the organization please e-mail me at srohlf@ucsc.edu <mailto:srohlf@ucsc.edu>.
Advising Week February 14-21/Enrollment for Spring Quarter:
Advising week takes place February 14th-21st. This is a good time when your college advisors and departmental advisors are available to answer questions about spring enrollment. Enrollment for spring quarter for continuing students runs from February 22-March 4.
Last Day to Request Tutor:
Reminder that the last day to request a tutor is Monday, March 3rd. The on-line tutor sign-up system (OTSS) will remain open until March 3rd at 5:00pm. You can access the tutor sign-up registration and sign-in page at https://eop-apps.ucsc.edu/OTSS/tutorsignup/
Please contact Learning Support Services at 459-4333 with any questions or comments, or go by their office at the Academic Resources Center (ARC) if you need assistance with the On-line Tutor Sign-up System.
Deadline to Withdraw from Class:
The deadline to withdraw from classes with a W (Withdraw) notation, except for emergency reasons is Wednesday February 20th.
Entry Point Internships for Students with Disabilities:
Are you studying science, engineering, math or computer science? Summer internship opportunities with competitive salary stipends at Lockheed, IBM, NASA and other employers are available through the program, Entry Point!, of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The program includes mentoring, assistive technology, and other services. Visit the website for more information: www.entrypoint.org
Interactive Online Network for Students with Disabilities:
Interactive Online Network for Students with Disabilities: Xable.com/student is an online community where students with disabilities can share information, search the resource directory, find jobs and connect with others. It looks interesting, but the DRC is not familiar with the creators of the website. We urge you to be careful with any online networking.
