Computer Assistant

Employment Standards

As representatives of the Disability Resource Center, Computer Assistants must conduct themselves in a professional manner. Punctuality, reliability and excellent communication skills are essential. Must also be discreet with confidential information, work well with a diverse population (especially students with disabilities), and with little or no supervision.

Skills Knowledge and Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of Macintosh and Windows based computers.
  • Good communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting with a diverse student population.

Skills Knowledge and Abilities Preferred

  • Computer engineering education.

Examples of Duties

  • Train DRC clients on voice recognition software
  • Install software and/or hardware
  • Provide assistance to DRC clients related to adaptive features software and equipment
  • Troubleshoot software or hardware and/or follow up with projects as needed.
