ServicesAdaptive LabsThe DRC has seven adaptive technology workstations in five computer labs on campus--two workstations at the Academic Resource Center, one at the Media Center in the McHenry Library, two in the Cowell Lab (Fall-Spring only), one in the Social Sciences Lab, and one in the Science and Engineering Library. The general campus labs also have some adaptive software features on all their computers. See the link for the lab location map Academic Resources Center (ARC) is located between McHenry Library and the Music Center. The ARCenter has two adaptive workstations, one with Dragon Naturally Speaking, Kurzweil 3000/Study Station, Inspiration Wynn Reader, and JAWS, and the other with Kurzweil 3000, RFB&D Reader, OpenBook, JAWS and a scanning station.
Science and Engineering Library is located at Merrill College. This Instructional Computing lab has one adaptive workstation, in available with Kurzweil 3000/Study Station.
Media Center in McHenry Library Social Sciences 1 Lab Cowell Lab is located at the newly-built Cowell Apartments, near the entrance across from the Bookstore. The open 24 hours a day, which makes it ideal for walk-in use. There are two adaptive workstations in the Cowell Lab. One is in the ATR room and is available for use by request from the DRC. The ATR workstation has Kurzweil 3000/Study Station, ZoomText, Dragon Naturally Speaking, and JAWS. There is another workstation in the open lab that has Kurzweil 3000 and a scanner.
